Depending on your exact barrel, the comp may sit flush to the slide or have a small gap. Our set screw design wedges the compensator onto your barrel, pinching it and keeping it tight during extended use. It depends on the load and weight of the rounds used consistently, but we have built them to last with the best material out there. The Aluminum 7075 compensator will eventually wear out after years of use over thousands of rounds. We recommend a Qualified Gunsmith install or make any modifactions to your firearm. We produce a complete range of pistol (including threaded barrels) and rifle barrels for commercial firearms, as well as rifled tubes for sniper weapons and machine gun barrels. Slide and barrel have been cleaned and oiled. 509 LS Edge stripped slide and barrel (Original owner with 2,500 rounds through it. Thus far we have not had any recorded issues on tested firearms. The magazine capacity is reduced to 15 rounds, but higher capacity versions fit as well. Midsize models retain the 4-inch barrel of the full-sized model but have a shorter grip. We have ran thousands of rounds through multiple firearms in different set ups with little to no issues, but this does not mean that an issues in reliabilty can not occur. The FN 509 lineup is much more than a single full-size model. Adding our compensator to your pistol, in rare circumstances, can effect your reliability and may require some fine tuning. ![]()
